Improper diet, and lack of rest and exercise can kill you

You saw that guy or the girl, and burnt with envy. Full of energy, no flab, no diseases, and glowing with health. And then you looked at yourself and cringed. How? You asked.

Simple. They take care of their health and looks, and you did not. How much does it take? It does not take much, but that little may be too much for asking. In one word, it is “discipline”. How much and what you eat, how much you rest, and how much you exercise. Just three things. They focus on these things all the time, and keep a tab on it. Most do not and pay through their noses in terms of ill-health and screwed looks.

What you should be doing?  Have a strict diet, rest and exercise regimen throughout your life, if you are bothered about your health and looks, and it means making those little sacrifices. The most important thing to control is your diet, even if you do not exercise too much. You also need to get that proper rest.

Based on your current BMI, your dietician can draw a diet plan for you and suggest what exercises you should be doing. Even if you are obese, with proper diet, and a dose of exercise, you can regain much of what you have lost, except for any chronic illnesses you may have accumulated because of your casual approach to things.

In the current times, stress is one of the silent killers, and on top of that, if you are careless with your food, and you do not flex your muscles at times, you will be a gonner in no time. Normally, the after affects of your habits show themselves once you hit that age of 30-35, and are in full glow after you turn 40, and ripe by the time you are 50, if you have not taken care of things.

There is nothing like a genetically blessed person. It is all the individual habits and efforts. You cannot have your cake and eat is as well. If you cannot overcome your greed for food, alcohol and couch, it is highly unlikely that you will be able to retain what you had in your youth.

Eat moderately, sleep well, and exercise a little over moderately. That should do the trick. Here’s wishing you all the best on your journey to health, happiness and looks.
